Unsung heroes
He cuts and carves that amorphous log of wood,
And creates the finest artifacts from anything crude.
Sweat trails down to his toe from his hood.
Oblivious of hunger and of thirst,
Sun may be at its worst,
But his will and vow makes his work better and better.
I salute every carpenter coz he surely does matter!
Those beautiful flowers that bloom in your garden,
Or those blades of grass trimmed before they harden,
Are the result of someone who himself with rickety bones,
Waters and feeds and tends to them but never bemoans.
Because he takes pride in keeping it beautiful and neat,
That unassuming gardener for sure deserves a treat.
Innumerable workers who work in the mines,
But have no time for cribs and whines.
Or technicians or nurses who work in hospitals and blabs,
Handling all sorts of chemicals and sometimes infected cotton swabs,
Or the ones in the traffic police who smothered in dust and soot,
Brave atrocious traffic but continue to whistle and hoot,
Lets not forget the delivery boys bringing to our door,
Letters,newspapers, groceries,medicines and more,
Those helpers who help us in homes and schools or such places,
Doing the most menial tasks with calm and happy faces.
I salute above all and the rest of their ilk,
They are special though they come in bulk
Let us dedicate to them these pages,
And hence all praises to their wages.!
